Outlook 2003 New Features

Objective

Learn to navigate in the new Outlook 2003 interface and understand the new and improved features available in the latest version of Outlook.

Prerequisite Skills

Comfortable with the Windows environment and with a previous version of Outlook.

Course Description

Have you recently upgraded to Outlook 2003 (or are you preparing to upgrade)? Do you need help finding information and navigating around in the new interface? Do you want to learn how Outlook's new features can help increase your efficiency?

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Use the Navigation Pane, message list, and Reading Pane.

  • Use the New Mail Desktop Alert window to preview and complete basic actions on a new message.

  • Understand how AutoComplete name suggestion works.

  • Quick Flag a message you receive.

  • Send and receive attachments.

  • View or block external content (e.g., pictures & sounds) in HTML-formatted messages.

  • Add folders to your Favorite Folders list.

  • Understand and create Search Folders.

  • Display the Folder List.

  • Use the Person Names Smart Tag to check free time and schedule meetings.

  • Color-code calendar entries.

  • Work with the Reminders window.

  • View someone else's calendar alongside your own.

  • Use the new Junk E-mail Filter.
