Objective:
Learn the functionality of the Outlook application with a focus on the basic features of Outlook 98 mail.

Prerequisite Skills:
Comfortable with the Windows environment.

Course Description:
Are you new to Microsoft Outlook? Do you want to learn about the basic components of the application, as well as how to read, send, reply to, delete, and file e-mail messages?

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Become comfortable with the Outlook screen and the different components of Outlook.
  • Send e-mail messages in Outlook.
  • Format the text of a message.
  • Spell check your messages.
  • Save a message as a draft so you can complete it later.
  • Read incoming messages.
  • Reply to messages you receive.
  • Forward messages to other people.
  • File messages into folders.
  • Print a message.
  • Delete a message you no longer need.
  • Exit Outlook.

Outlook 98 Calendaring Basics

Objective:
Learn to schedule appointments, meetings, and events into your Outlook calendar.

Prerequisite Skills:
Comfortable with the basics of Outlook 98.

Course Description:
Do you want to learn how Outlook can help you manage your meetings and appointments? Do you want to schedule meetings with your co-workers and ensure you pick a time during which they are available? Do you want an easy way to track whether invitees are planning to attend a meeting you scheduled?

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Understand the different calendar views.
  • Schedule appointments and events on your calendar.
  • Create repeating entries on your calendar.
  • Add details to a calendar entry.
  • Invite others to a meeting.
  • Find available free time for those you want to meet with.
  • Accept or decline meeting invitations you receive.

Objective:
Learn to enhance your use of Outlook 98 by using advanced messaging features.

Course Description:
Are you always typing the same information at the close of each of your mail messages? Are you spending too much time addressing messages to groups of people? Do you want a quick way to inform people when you are out of the office and unable to respond to e-mail messages?

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Add a signature to the end of your e-mail messages.
  • Attach a separate file to an e-mail message.
  • Use the Out of Office Assistant to notify people when you are not available to respond to messages.
  • Flag a message to provide additional instructions or requests to the recipient.
  • Use voting buttons to solicit responses from recipients.
  • Track messages to know when the recipient receives and/or reads the message.
  • Recall a message you sent.
  • Apply stationery to a message.
  • Add people to your Outlook Contacts list.
  • Send a message to someone in your Contacts list.
