Project 2003 Analyzing a Project Plan

Objective

Learn to identify and adjust the critical path, apply "what-if" scenarios, and locate and resolve overallocated resources.

Prerequisite Skills

Familiar with project management concepts and with using Microsoft Project to create a basic project plan.

Course Description

What is a critical path? How do you use the critical path to help you manage your project? In this course, learn to locate the critical path and use different methods of shortening the project plan. Also, learn to analyze your resources and locate and reduce overallocation.

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Understand and determine the critical path.

  • Identify critical tasks.

  • View and modify the critical plan.

  • Work with the Network Diagram.

  • Filter a view to display critical tasks.

  • Understand ways to shorten the critical path.

  • Analyze resources.

  • Reduce resource overallocation.

  • Level your project plan (manually or automatically).

  • Share resources in a resource pool.

  • Analyze costs.
