Publisher 2007 Getting Started

Objective

Learn to create a new publication from a template or from a blank document, and to set up the publication pages. Learn to work with text boxes, pictures, and formatting in a publication. Learn to preview and print a publication and save it in a variety of file formats.

Prerequisite Skills

Comfortable with the Windows environment.

Course Description

Do you want to use Publisher to create newsletters, brochures, flyers, and other documents? Do you need to learn how to set up a publication and add text and graphic elements in the appropriate locations?

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Create a new publication from a template or from a blank page.

  • Understand the menus, toolbars, and other features of the Publisher screen.

  • Change the margins of a publication.

  • Add grid guides and ruler guides to the page.

  • Add, remove, and rearrange the pages in a publication.

  • Save a publication in various file formats.

  • Select, move, resize, or delete objects.

  • Rotate or flip objects.

  • Format the border or fill of an object.

  • Add text boxes to a publication.

  • Make text flow from one text box into another within the publication.

  • Add graphics from the Clip Art Gallery, the Publisher Design Gallery, or an image file stored on your computer.

  • Preview and print a publication.

  • Get help in Publisher.
