Objective:
Learn what SQL is and how it can be used to query a database.

Prerequisite Skills:
Comfortable with the Windows environment.

Course Description:
Do you need to learn the basics of Structured Query Language (SQL) and use SQL statements to query a database to find answers to business questions?

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Understand what a relational database is and identify uses for SQL.
  • Learn proper SQL syntax.
  • Calculate data using aggregate functions.
  • Use column aliases and date functions.
  • Use the WHERE clause to select specific rows in a database.
  • Search for specific text or characters within a database.
  • Write queries that select information from more than one table.
  • Query a database using Microsoft Access.

SQL Advanced

Objective:
Learn advanced queries and learn how to add, update, and delete data, tables, views, and indexes.

Prerequisite Skills:

Do you understand the basics of the SQL language and want to learn to build more advanced queries? Do you need to learn how to add, update, and delete data in a database?

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Query using unions and advanced joins.
  • Query using subqueries.
  • Add data to a database.
  • Update and remove data from a database.
  • Create, modify, or delete tables and views.
  • Add or remove an index.
  • Use transactions to manage the way data is altered.
  • Create and delete databases.
