Visio 2007 Creating Data Diagrams with Visio Professional
Objective
Learn to connect data to Visio shapes in any drawing type, and
display the data on the shapes in data graphics. Learn to create
PivotDiagrams using data.
Prerequisite Skills
Comfortable creating basic Visio drawings and adding and formatting
shapes in a drawing. Note also that this course requires Visio
2007 Professional; the features taught
in the course are not available in the Standard version of Visio.

Course Description
Do you need to create a diagram based on the information in
an Excel worksheet, an Access database, or another data source?
Do you want to make sure the diagram updates automatically when
changes are made to the data file?
Attend this course if you want to:

Understand what data diagrams and PivotDiagrams are.

Understand what types of files can be used as a data source
and how that data source must be set up.

Link a drawing to a data source.

Link information from the data source to the shapes in the
drawing.

View the data linked to a shape.

Add data graphics to a shape (e.g., text callouts, data bars,
and icons).

Change the color of shapes based on criteria for the data.

Refresh the data in a drawing.

Remove the link between a drawing and its data source.

Create a PivotDiagram.
