Word 2007 Getting Started

Objective

Learn the terminology of Microsoft Word and develop the skills to create and work with basic documents.

Prerequisite Skills

Comfortable with the Windows environment.

Course Description

Are you new to Microsoft Word? Do you want to create simple letters, reports, and other documents? Do you need to edit, save, and print documents? Do you want to spell check your documents and learn to use online help?

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Learn what you can do with Microsoft Word.

  • Understand word processing features.

  • Start Word and create a new document.

  • Understand the Word interface, including the Ribbon, Office button, and Quick Access toolbar.

  • Learn how to move around in a document using the mouse and keyboard.

  • Make changes to documents.

  • Save documents to your hard drive or a shared network drive.

  • Open existing Word documents.

  • Format text within your documents.

  • Change the paragraph alignment and spacing.

  • Move and copy text within your document.

  • Use spelling and grammar check.

  • Print documents.

  • Use online Help to get quick answers to your Word questions.
